Chores is a freelance marketplace that facilitates connections between clients and service providers. The platform does not act as an employer, agent, or representative of any user. All agreements, contracts, and transactions between users are made directly between the parties involved. Chores assumes no liability for the quality, timing, legality, or outcome of any services rendered.

While Chores supports both fiat and cryptocurrency payments, users are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the laws, regulations, and tax obligations applicable in their jurisdictions. Cryptocurrency transactions are subject to market volatility and regulatory risk, and Chores shall not be held liable for any financial losses, delays, or technical issues arising from third-party services, wallets, or exchanges.

By accessing or using the Chores platform, you acknowledge and agree that Chores, its affiliates, and team members shall not be held responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the website, platform, or related services. Chores reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time without prior notice.

Terms & Conditions - The Basics 

Welcome to Chores. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Chores website, mobile application, and all related products and services (collectively referred to as the “Platform”). By accessing, browsing, or using Chores, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.

 

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Platform, you enter into a legally binding agreement with Chores Technologies AG (“Chores,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including but not limited to freelancers (“Service Providers”) and clients (“Job Providers”).
Use of the Platform signifies your consent to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or policies that may apply to specific features or services within Chores.

Chores reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Platform, with the “Last Updated” date revised accordingly. Your continued use of Chores following such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

 

Nature of the Platform

Chores operates as a marketplace platform that connects users seeking to provide services with users seeking to hire or purchase such services. Chores acts solely as an intermediary technology provider.
We do not:

  • Employ freelancers or represent them as agents.

  • Guarantee job outcomes, delivery times, or quality of work.

  • Assume responsibility for disputes or breaches of contract between users.

All agreements, negotiations, and payments occur directly between freelancers and clients. Chores facilitates these interactions through communication tools, secure payment systems, and optional dispute resolution features, but it remains a neutral intermediary.

 

Platform Use and Eligibility

To use Chores, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction.

  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms when using the Platform.

Users are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activities conducted under their account. Chores is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized account access or misuse.

 

Modifications and Availability

Chores strives to maintain continuous and reliable access to its services but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen technical issues.
We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without prior notice.

  • Restrict access to certain features, users, or regions if deemed necessary for legal or security reasons.

Chores shall not be held liable for any loss of data, business, or profit resulting from downtime, updates, or service interruptions.

 

User Compliance and Conduct

By using Chores, you agree not to:

  • Engage in fraudulent, misleading, or unlawful activities.

  • Post or share false information, offensive material, or intellectual property that you do not own.

  • Attempt to interfere with, hack, or exploit any aspect of the Platform.

  • Circumvent platform systems, including payments, ratings, or communication channels.

Violation of these Terms may result in temporary suspension, permanent account termination, or legal action as deemed appropriate by Chores.

 

Legal Framework

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Lucerne, Switzerland.

What to Include in the T&C Document

Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
